Welcome to our natural Paradise
Title
Asturias, Oviedo and Gijón
The Principality of Asturias is an autonomous community in northern Spain, known for having a climate quite different from the typical Spanish climate—it rains a lot here. However, thanks to this, we have unique landscapes with very green mountains and abundant nature, not to mention our beautiful beaches. We also have our own culture and a rich gastronomy.
The capital of Asturias is Oviedo. It serves as a commercial, university, and administrative hub of Asturias, recognized as one of the cities with the highest quality of life in Europe according to the European Commission. With a population of 221,152, Oviedo is the second most populous city in Asturias, after Gijón.
The city center is of a perfect size, allowing for pleasant walking. Life in the city is dynamic, offering activities and areas for all tastes: the Fontán market, Pre-Romanesque monuments, contemporary architecture, green spaces, and a beautiful historic center that has inspired writers like Clarín and Pérez de Ayala.
On the other hand, we have Gijón, a coastal city in northern Spain located 25 km from Oviedo. It has a population of 272,013 and is known for its maritime heritage and the old fishermen's district called Cimadevilla. Additionally, the city boasts numerous beaches, with San Lorenzo being the most prominent among them.
