Gijón is the largest city in Asturias and one of the most vibrant destinations in northern Spain. Known for its beautiful coastline, lively atmosphere and strong cultural identity, the city offers the perfect combination of urban life, beaches and outdoor activities.

Playa de San Lorenzo

The Beachfront of Gijón

The iconic Playa de San Lorenzo is the heart of the city and one of the most recognisable places in Asturias. Its long promenade is ideal for walking, running or simply enjoying the views of the Cantabrian Sea.

Throughout the year, the beach becomes a meeting point for locals, students and visitors, offering spectacular sunsets and a lively atmosphere in every season.

Cimavilla: The Historic Quarter

Cimavilla is the oldest neighbourhood in Gijón and one of its most charming areas. Originally a fishing district, today it is known for its colourful streets, traditional cider houses and stunning views of the coastline.

At the highest point of the neighbourhood stands Elogio del Horizonte, a monumental sculpture by Eduardo Chillida that has become one of the city's most famous landmarks.
